Love and the London Eye

Since we are off again on new adventures soon and leaving London, boyfriend and I have been scrambling to fit in the few things we meant to see here and just hadn't gotten around to. Plus we had a few credit card rewards to spend! Always nice.

We decided to use some of those rewards to book the Ripley's Believe It or Not attraction and the London Eye.

<-- One very large rocking chair.

The London Eye was WAY better than I expected. People don't always say very nice things about it, but I was blown away by the views. It's far from a photographer's dream, however. It's surrounded by glass and the round shape makes it quite the challenge to take a photo without a twisted half an arm reflection popping up. As it is, I took about 60 photos (couldn't help it) and only those you see here were really worth seeing (and no lie - most of them are shamelessly stolen from boyfriend's phone). A parent (who undoubtedly had much more important things to think about) had their stroller leaning right where big ben could be seen. Thus, black lines and gray netting reflections made a consistent appearance upon later review. Still, you can't ignore the stunning white on blue with all of London in the background.
Best view of parliament I've seen (better than the Shard for sure)

Ripley's was a bit of disappointment for me. I remember them SO fondly from visiting as a kid. As an adult, it was a lot hokey-er. Maybe also throw in the 600 pound life and all those crazy reality shows. They dull the madness of Ripley's by just a bit. So yeah, I think it's a bit of a kid thing. We still had a fun time running around and reading all the crazy facts. We both also loved the exhibit on shrunken heads. The process they go through to shrink them is really detailed. I just always like learning more about exotic cultures and places so very different than the world I live in.
Overall, it was a great day. It's my favorite just hanging out with that guy. He's honestly THE best.

A bit of fun in the call of mirrors :)
